Presenting v3.1.19!

Suddenly, a new version!

Download from Dropbox

This update's main two features is the new presenting animations. Head down, ass up! You'll see them on the character select screen, and eventually on the "adult pokedex" later.

The other feature is the new v2 dialog. It is now progressive and can recognize new events. Our writer, Foxohki, has been very busy adding more variety to the thought bubbles. Now over 400 lines!

Latest Updates:
v3.1.19
 - Pokemon now have a unique "presenting" animation on the character select screen
 - Fireplace can now be lit + lighing effects
 - Redid some of Flareon and Glaceon's appearance
 - New "dialog v2" system, recognizing new events and progression. Now with over 3x more dialog... 400+ lines!

New dialog modding override:

The instructions from the previous post still apply. However the format has drastically changed, so you'll need to get the new template to get started: dialog-override.zip

UPDATE: Turns out, the dialog override feature causes the flash to break if embedded on a website. It'll work fine stand-alone though, like if you run it on your computer locally.

For now, dialog modding has been disabled in version 3.1.19. However, if you really want to play around with it, you can still download the old version here, before it was disabled.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help. And as always, feedback and critique in general is welcome. If you think something is ugly or off, I don't mind the criticism. I'm a budding artist and could benefit from a bit of constructive criticism ;)

  2. Question, the download from drop box only opens in the browser, think you can make it so you can download it from Media Fire or something as a Zip folder that Winrar and 7zip, and WinZip can Download?

    1. I updated the links. Better? If not, which download are you talking about exactly?

    2. Change the ?dl=0 part in the dropbox adress line to ?dl=1, and the flash will download instead of just open up in your browser.

  3. Love the progress that has been made on this animation.

Is there any way to see a list of all of the dialogues?
I'll never know if I've seen them all if there really is 400+...

    1. If you really want to view them all, you can download the dialog override file that was linked in the post ;)

  4. Y'know the scary face you get when Flareon levels up? Perhaps you should add Face/Expression options to all of the Pokemon? Or at least make the scary face stay when you level up? Besides that great game and I'm glad you're working on it.

    1. If I recall, Flareon will use the scary face every now and then after she learns it. But yeah, some kinda cheat control for setting the face expression would be right up my alley. I like putting the user in control.

  5. Shut up and take my money while I do the hustle at this update.
In all seriousness though, its hard to believe a simple remake has turned into a project this big. Good luck with the future updates. If you ever open to donations I'll be sure to give some support.

  6. I did the changing the 1 on the dropbox link from 0 to 1 but apparently .swf is not supported by the programs on my computer which is odd because i have like 8 swf files on my PC atm, and they all open just fine but this one says i need a later version of flash player but then it says that has a virus and auto deletes it, so i'm somewhat at my wits end.

    1. When I exported the flash I set the target player to version 17, so I guess that's why. With all the security problems flash has been having lately, you're going to want to keep that thing updated anyway.

I imagine your anti-virus is spooked by the flash trying to access a local file - dialog-overrirde.xml. I bet if you tried to run v3.1.19 you wouldn't have that warning, since this version doesn't use this feature. I'll have to find some other way to import files :\

    2. Actually, my Anti virus doesnt block those types of files because i have it disabled, i know how to manually remove viruses myself so i really dont have the need for such a program, But anyways, think its actually possible to make it so you can download it in the form of like .rar and what not like with all of its Files, scripts, .exe and so forth like others do for flash games, so that way you don't have too just keep using your browser?

    3. Also, i did try the V3.1.19 and the result was that, because apparently the newest of Windows Media player or whatever can not Run .swf's which makes absolutely no sense, ude think the new versions could run more.

So is it that the Dialog file is whats causing the issue, if so then why is Media player Also saying, that the file cant be ran in media player unless you download an older version of Flash, but then your computer treats the older version of flash as if Flash is a virus for no reason.

    4. That's called Flash Presentation, where the .swf is instead a .exe. I suppose I could do that if there's demand for it. I haven't quite figured out what the reasoning is behind why some authors do that.

Personally, when I open an .swf file on my computer, it opens up in flash player itself, not my browser.

    5. Well all i know is it wont open with my Media player, it might be because this is an interactive Flash and im pretty sure Windows Media player can't support Interactive files, so i dunno lol, hopefully you get all that sorted out.

    6. Honestly I never even heard of opening a flash with media player before O_o

I'm a lil' confused on why you don't just open it with your browser or, failing that, directly in flash player itself?

  7. What i am saying is there a way you can download it, and use the flash WITHOUT needing too open the Browser too view the flash.

Media player, Not Media Center can play Gif, swf, wav, avi and normal video files, but anything that is otherwise interactive in format it won't run.

  9. Wow.. this flash you've managed to create is simply insane (in the best way possible!). You should give an option for people to donate to help expand the flash if the effort eats up to much of your time! I'm sure there would be people willing to lend a hand financially for you guys!

Just one piece of small criticism: I think Glaceon's vag is a little low on the preview screen or it may just be me. (Also if in the future people could vote on mabye a few options for additional characters you pre-approve if you wish to continue the flash that would be a dream come true!)

    1. I appreciate the feedback! I tried to mimic canine-like anatomy for her, in which case, they have a pretty tall "backboard", as it were. It's down about as low as it should be, I think.

As for voting, there's currently a poll on the blog now, on the sidebar ;)

And thanks for wanting to donate! That's very kind. I'm not currently setup to take donations but perhaps I will be later on.
