It has come to my attention...

...that quite a few people are still coming here. Nearly 500 hits per day, actually... despite how long it has been since my last update.

Just to set the record straight and offer some closure:

1.) I am not working on POW at the moment. With the death of flash as a technology, it feels like a waste of time to continue developing with it (also flash it just annoying in general, from a dev point of view!).

2.) My patreon has been inactive as of the last update of POW. For the sake of transparency, at the end, POW ended up making around $600 in total. I never set out to make any real revenue with POW, it was more like just a tip jar thing.

3.) The source code has been released long ago. I occasionally get word from people on discord that they've adopted it and are working on doing something with it. As for whether or not anything ever becomes of it, I couldn't tell you. You can sometimes see me lurking around the Feral Pokeporn Server.

4.) My creative outlet has been in professional pursuits this past year. Things I can't really talk about in a place like this, I'm sure you understand ;) I will say I'm pretty fluent with unity now-a-days though, and I've entertained the idea of doing something adult with it someday if I found the inspiration.

  4. Dang it, even though I had a hunch this might happen due to long silence from you I was still hoping at least Vaporeon would get finished. But hey, it's been fun while it lasted, I mean it's still fun 'cause POW is still there but, you know. Anyway, good luck with whatever you're doing right now, I hope we get to see this entire thing in remastered in Unity one day ;)

    1. Well at least unlike some people they actually said they're done I waited for years on some people because they said nothing

  6. Real glad I went to all the trouble to support you and waited on that ninetales addition for literally two years.

Thanks for at least having the balls to admit that this project is dead.

  7. That is...really disappointing after waiting for such a long time, while I understand pursuing other career paths, I can’t help but feel a bit scummy from this whole situation.

  8. Thanks for finally clearing it up. It would have been nice to se this earlier though. We under stand and life moves on so follow what you want to do but dont forgot about your more adult fan base.

  9. I'm very happy to finally hear an answer from you after all this time. It's a shame for the project to pretty much be declared dead, but hopefully someone else will take the project and run with it. After all, you laid the groundwork and it is up to them (whoever they may be) to continue the project.

Thank you for the game, the update and I wish you luck with your future projects.

  10. I'd like to see from you in the near future your creations! no matter flash or just a game or arts or something else. I just want to see something from you

  11. It's because we concernedly miss you, wondering why you just up and disappeared, and were trying to come to terms with the perceived fate of Offwhite...

I am sure there are alternatives towards using Flash, though since you are still dealing with other pursuits, that is understandable. Just keep doing what you do best and and also take a moment from time to time and contemplate if POW can come back as POW2 or something. ;p

  18. You do realize you can still make these animated games right? Adobe Air fully supports Flash Player, also since Air cannot play flash animations Flash Player will live on. Flash Player will have to live on or at least until everyone stops using it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Also Air is slightly less annoying as Flash Player. Flash Player is not dead, Why would it die? It is a hardy program.

    1. Adobe Flash is going to die in late 2020. Adobe is discontinuing it. It will be gone, forever, but with the possibility of some browsers keeping minimal support for it. The reason for this is slightly unknown, but many think that it's because Adobe kept putting out updates for Flash, yet people kept finding bugs and found ways to hack people's computers with it. It's sad, because I find Flash more convenient and fast than HTML5. But, Flash is still dying.

  20. If you don't continue this project in flash, I hope you at least return to it in some capacity on a later date. I feel like this has quite a lot of promise.

  26. Damn! I found POW in some backwater corner of the internet and I tracked it all the way here and I find this? I am so depressed, I thought this was still in production and I still like flash games! I thought there could be many more pokemon added in the future... But I guess you gotta do your own stuff, I thought this game had loads of potential (no pun intended) I was excited about that X-ray but I guess we can't have at we want... I still have no idea if there are other positions in the breeding mode (wish it had a lot more pokemon, I like the way they think too). What I'm really trying to say is that I respect you, I don't know if this matters, if you see it, or if you care, but know this, I RESPECT YOU. I wish you luck in your future endeavours.

    1. I have to say on a side note...
POW is one of, if not, the best porn flash game I have ever played.

    2. I have to agree with you on both fronts.
Once I'm out of college, I swear to finish this game on some other format that's usable by Flash Player!

    3. (if your comment is addressed to me)
I think it will be called Pokemon: Off White (fan remake)
Today I begin to create. Unfortunately, I will publish all the minor news in the community in Russian. However, to the public access, I plan to make support for different languages.

  39. So has anyone actually taken this project and done anything with it yet? When he released all the resources, I expected people to snatch it up and do their own thing with it, since there appeared to be such a sizeable following, but I haven't been able to find a single thing. Not a WIP, or even a single mod.

Did I misjudge how much people cared? Am I searching in the wrong places? Or am I just too impatient and not enough time has passed for anything to sprout up?

    1. I wanted to try flash game development, but the source code is no longer available.
Then I decided to make a version of this game on html 5 using the same flash. However, I encountered problems with the output of a large number of vector objects, which depends only on adobe and their product.
I want to work on updates, and creating my own version, but alas, at the moment it doesn’t work out that way.

  47. Others might be okay with this but Flash is not dead Flash Games are not dead you abandoned a project because if your own belief not a fact you did it because to you it got too hard people want you to complete it a lot of people do this bullshit isn't closure it is just a man moving on because it doesn't see POW as a great work of art with great potential you'd rather turn your back on the fans of your game and set your goals bigger than work on a project that should of been finished a long time ago you messed up I think it's about time you admit that and finish what you started no damn excuses a real artist a real creator would never abandon a work or think less of it now it's time to get off your ass and finish this project before finishing your new ones you owe the people who stood by you the people that gave you money you owe it to them and those that love your work to see it through or you cannot call yourself a real artist or creator.

    1. Hey, uhh, maybe he just decided he wanted to pursue new things?
The project is in a decently playable state, updates have been done for a while. Honestly, in the past, I've even seen people considering coming back to a dead project, but comments like that are a massive put-off. Maybe, just maybe, you could appreciate the fact that as much work was put into the game as there was. Telling someone they aren't "a real artist or creator" because of moving forward is most definitely not a good idea. Please remember that we all have lives. Circumstances evolve, goals change. A "real artist" would follow their passion rather than to chain one's self to something they do not like. It was always stated that the tip jar was just that. A tip jar. A way for people to show appreciation for work that was already done. I doubt you will ever see this comment, or care if you do. Please, be respectful to people who give, literally for free sometimes, their hard work and effort. Not just for a flash game online, but in everything. Sorry about the rant.

  48. hey all just so you know, not sure if this has been said here yet or not, but terra is currently working on a new project. I'm not sure what, but he has been talking about it on the discord. I stopped by here real quick cause I was wondering if he had made any blogposts about it. Apparently not, but keep an eye out and you may see something from him here. though likely not about off white.
