Soooo, wow...what a slaughter! I wasn't expecting that. While I did suspect that Ninetales would win, I didn't expect the margins to be so massive. In order to provide competitive value for voters, it's in my best interest to pick candidates that I feel can compete well with one another.
There's two problems with this poll. One of that I was competing a 1st gen pokemon against a gen 3 and 5, and I suspect there's much more 1st gen love in this audience (sounds a good public poll topic, eh?). Second, the candidates were limited by POW's old animation class model, which required that the pokemon be of about the same size and shape.
Moving forward, any polls for interactive pokemon will not be required to be the same size and shape. Also, I'll try to keep the span of generations to a minimum between candidates to curb nostalgia bias.
If I have some spare time, perhaps the 2nd place winner here will earn a showcase animation ;)
That's a pretty big gap between first and second. Kinda takes the sport out of it, huh? I knew ninetails would win (I voted for Luxray myself), but holy crap.

DeleteDem ribbons though (the tail). Ribbons a lotta work to animate in 2d.
Have you considered wrapping the ribbons around the hands of the "breeder" in a missionary position?
DeleteSay, have the breeder and suicune/mienshao in a missionary position, and have them wrap their ribbons around the hands/arms of the breeder?
I think it would be a decent workaround for the animation trouble you have, at least until you decide to do other animations.
PS: Ribbons are always hell for all animators. Even big animation companies have trouble with them, and rarelly animate them in order to reduce cost.
Furfrou would also be would also be nice to have in the future version

Don't need to be a genwunner to like Ninetales, I'm certainly not and she was still my favorite of those three. A lot of people like foxes, plus she's the fluffiest out of them by a wide margin.
DeleteAny chance a vote in the near-ish future could be underused pokes (hawlucha, hydreigon line, flaaffy, etc. All those pokes that do not have as much art as you'd expect them to, especially compared to some other candidates)?
