PSA: Modding Confirmed Broken

Just a quick post for those of you who may end up here seeking help with POW's modding functionality... yeah it doesn't appear to be working. I've spent the past few hours now trying to figure out what's going on with it.

It's not just the latest version, but older versions as well, which makes me think the problem has something to do with a recent flash update, or browser update in how it handles its local security (flash is notoriously insecure, after all).

It will work, however, if you play the flash directly within the flash player instead of through the browser.

I don't have any leads as to what the problem is exactly, so most likely I would just need to rewrite that whole system using some other technique, which may as well be part of the v5 code rewrite.

I'm sure many of you have been wondering when v5 is expected, but I don't have any good news to share on that. Life has taken me off course from creative developments these past few months, but I expect to return to POW sooner or later for another wave of lewd fun n' progress.

Pokemon Off White to become open source

I think it's about time for POW to "grow up" and become more than what it currently it by going open source. For version 5, I have been working towards this goal. While I've wanted to go open source for awhile now, the way POW is structured is unsuitable for public involvement, due to how messy and amateur it is. It is the byproduct of a learning experience.

As I've been working on that new game I mentioned a few posts ago, I've learned the joys of programming in a more proper method, and now, coming back to work on POW, it's irritating. So, ever since releasing 4.4.11, I've been working on rewriting POW into hierarchical, encapsulated/modular code structure (which, btw, might have the side-effect of correcting a few troublesome bugs that are a consequence of the way things currently work).

Once I'm done with that, I plan on starting up a github to host POW's source files. Those with programming expertise could contribute to the programming side of things (AS3, similar to javascript), and those with the tools to create flash vector animations could download the .fla and see what they can do in there. Contributions to the official release would need to go through the usual QA and approval process by me, although there would be nothing stopping people from making their own unofficial variants of the game.

The coding process could take awhile, and I wouldn't expect any art news for the next month. And I'd be curious to know if anyone here would be seriously interested in getting involved with the open source version of POW once it's ready. Leave a comment ;)

Pokemon: Off White 4.4.11

The non-beta version has been posted. It fixes the panting noise bug, the latias cum button toggles a cum visibly layer now, and the thought bubbles in scene mode can be toggled on/off.

Ninetales breeder mode is next in v5, and will likely also include a few showcase as well. There may be another big change as well for v5 but I'm not ready to go into details about it just yet!

For those of you who pledged to me on patreon, chances are there won't be any pledge processing this month as I don't expect v5 to be ready before the month is over. So no new vote.

And the raw votes were actually 21-23-20 (the above results factors in the $1 per 1 vote system, max 5).

This poll was for a bunch of small pokemon in a bounce scene, where the trainer holds onto her and bounces her. Completely in an innocent, playful manner, I'm sure!

As for when... well, Ninetales comes first, so, sometime after v5.0.

And Eevee and Shaymin...? Eevee was already planned to at least be in a showcase animation, and I think I might do the same for Shaymin too.

Well, this is not 100% of what I was hoping to get done with the Latias update, but it's good enough for a beta release. Let me know what you guys think as I'll likely be making a few final refinements between now and final release. For example, there may be a pre-penetration stage of the animation.

I want to make a game

One million hits, woohoo!

So what's this announcement I been mentioning? Well...

For those of you who have been following my work way way back, you might remember an adult furry browser-based game I was working in which you manage a brothel, filled with dozens of different races, from humans to anthros to ferals. It was eventually canned, however. Not for lack of trying, though. I worked hard on it for about six months and was nearly at a playable state with it. It was instead plagued by a number of complicated problems, blah blah blah, what's the point?

Fast forward a few years, I been itching to try again. Some might say "Isn't Pokemon Off White a game?". No. It's mostly just a fancy animation gallery and platform. I've been encouraged to make a pokemon adult game by a few people, and I've even drafted up a couple game documents on how it might work. But the thing is, I don't want to only be known for pokemon stuff. I'm pretty unfocused, and my love for pokemon is just one of many fetishes. Pokemon just seemed like a good starting point for my pursuits. I also want to create some original content of my own, instead of riding along this wave of pokemon's popularity.

At first I started making a revised version of the brothel game, but instead I took a step back and decided to go a different direction with it. What I ended up deciding to do is a most-text based adventure, inspired by (but far from resembling) games like Corruption of Champions and Free Cities. I been developing the engine for the past month, and it's shaping up nicely.

Speaking of text, pardon the wall of text this post is. I was planning on having some screenshots to show when it came time to make this post, but I got pulled away from my work for the past couple weeks due to pressing family matters. I'm just using placeholder art at the moment.

So, a bit about the game... you start out creating your character, choosing a race that resembles a fox, avian, or lizard (all anthro).  It is a bit of a rags to riches story, where you find yourself waking up naked, broken memories, unhealthy and unskilled. The player will try to establish themself in the city and figure out their past and what's going on. Of course, this game is very adult, and desperation to survive will most likely lead your character into selling their body to get by, just to name one obvious example.

Visually, the game has two stages: an over world top-down view of the city. A "you are here" icon will be surrounded by things you can do there (most of which you will need to unlock). Some are repeatable tasks, like working, and others may trigger events to move the story forward. The dialog encounters are in this style (screenshot is from another game).

Well, this post is dragging on. The tl;dr is that I'm working on an anthro adult interactive visual novel game.

Oh yeah, and it's totally moddable from the ground up. Users could write up their own events and upload it into the game. The event engine will then consider using it when it decides which encounter to use.

What does this mean for pokemon off white? Not much, in fact I'll be doing some work on it in a bit here. The two projects are pretty different. POW is more of an art outlet, and the other game is more of a writing outlet. My roots in the fandom were in writing, after all! Okay, well, that may not be very exciting news, what else? Hmm, well... at the moment, I'm not planning on processing patreon pledges this month. In other words, there probably won't be a big release. I been working on a big new project which I'll be announcing soon.

This new game will be another big ongoing project, like POW is. It's different enough that it won't really compete for my time, and POW will live on, except for the core engine development phase that I'm in now. Details to come :)

Pokemon: Off-White 4.3.6

This is a minor update on 4.2. Not listed in the notes below are a whole bunch of bug fixes and optimizations.

I didn't want to create too much fanfare over this small update, so I just quietly updated the submission file on FA instead of uploading a new submission.

Dragon-v0942 was kind enough to reach out to me and contribute some of his quality sound effects for POW to use. He also does sound for some of the biggest furry animators out there, like Jasonafex and ZonkPunch. I've implemented some of his work into the flash so far, and will investigate adding more later (there's a lot of raw audio he gave me to go through!).

- Missionary and oral sex sounds replaced (again) plus oral swallowing sounds added

I also wanted to push this out because the next update may take awhile, since it'll be a sex animation.

Later this week...

I decided to lax up on the version control for POW. What this means is that minor versions won't always have to contain some big new thing before being considered finished. That said, v4.3 will likely be out later this week. I didn't have much time this past week, so I just been working on a bunch of minor things that I could do in a small time slot of work.

Aside from a bunch of bug fixes and optimizations, it adds a "bit switch" button in showcase mode to toggle between alt style of genitals (eg anatomically correct vs humanoid style).  Also in showcase mode, clicking a pokemon will play their cry, there's a pause button now, they all have summon thought bubbles, and dialog modding supports all languages.

I wanted at least one new pokemon though, so I been working on a cutey that's been on my list for a long time now. I'll be streaming the finishing work on Helioptile here on Monday, crab walking to a picarto channel near you.

Pokemon: Off-White 4.2.9

This is the polished version of the WIP version posted a couple days ago. Since then, I added a night-mode alt background to the lucario scene, the cum buttons now do something, fixed a few bugs and issues you guys pointed out to me, and went on a marathon sweep fixing up older graphics here and there.

- New mode: Scenes. A middle-ground between breeder mode and showcase mode
- Lucario oral scene added
- New showcase content: Sandslash, indoor background added
- The Pokedex gear tab now shows cum stats
- Changed some of the missionary sex sound effects
- Various graphical improvements with older pokemon assets

known issue: the night-mode background alt for Lucario can be laggy at times.

Pokemon: Off White 4.2.7 beta

Well, I said I'd deliver on Tuesday... still a couple hours left in the night!

This build is a WIP and won't be posted anywhere else other than the blog here. I expect to be posting a polished version on Thursday at the usual locations.

So, the big new thing here is Lucario's oral scene, which I think was the September patreon poll.

I still need to add the dialog features to Lucario and maybe do a bit more refinements to the animations here and there. I also plan on making the cum button do something (like facial cum), and adding an alt background scene (so those buttons don't do anything just yet).

Let me know if you find any bugs!

The pokedex gear tab also has a "semen scanner" now which tracks just how... full they are, exactly. The game already tracked this stuff anyway, so it wasn't hard to print those numbers out. I got the idea from a certain other flash game. Figure some people might be into that kinda thing ;)

A collaboration has been made

I finally managed to find an artist that may be able to help out with the POW's efforts. It has been difficult to find an artist that A.) draws feral pokemon in a style that's similar to what I'm after. B.) draws them for personal reasons, not solely untouchable commissions and C.) will agree to allowing 3rd party use.... and perhaps D.) speaks English. Lotta good Japanese artists out there, but the language barrier is a bit intense!



Give a thanks to Yaroul for her help here. She has agreed to allowing me to recreate non-commissioned art from her gallery into vector form to animate in POW. I started out with Sandslash here, which you can find the original sketch here. Not having to do the concept and posing phase myself saves me loads of time! Send a few faves and watches her way :)

Latias loves you



This month's patreon vote will be all about Latias. She will be the first legendary added to POW. I didn't want the first legendary to merely be a showcase, though. She will instead be a scene (which I was previously referring to as a "premium showcase" but has since been renamed to "scene"). Unless I'm falling behind on my work, I plan on most patreon polls to focus on scenes from here on out.

The vote will determine the act: missionary, oral (her giving), or from behind.

The final day to pledge to participate in the vote is June 23rd. Patreons will then receive the survey via email on the 24th, and the results will be published after patreon finalizes the pledge processing for validation purposes (typically the 4th or 5th of the month).

In other news, v4.2 with the Lucario oral scene is scheduled for release next Tuesday. Or later that week at the very least.

Pokemon: Off-White 4.1.15 alpha + changes to the roadmap

This flash update is the result of a "marathon stream" this weekend. Over 12 hours long, and a couple more hours today to wrap things up. Below are the full release notes, but compared to last update, Bayleef was added with two showcase poses, and Nidorina made a surprise appearance as well with one. New feature too: some pokemon have a thought bubble in showcase mode when they're summoned.

Bayleef was a patreon promise made some time ago. Glad to finally get that off my plate, and I like how she turned out, if I do say so myself!

A lot of you have been asking for more sex scenes, which is what I intend to work on next. The roadmap has been give a big shakeup. Version 4.1 will be concluded with Lucario giving oral. This will be the first premium showcase. A premium showcase is similar to the other showcases except that it has a dedicated background and scene, and interaction with another character (the human in this case). The interaction is more limited compared to the full blown sex scenes, but I think it'll be a good compromise for level-of-effort to payback ratio.

After that's done, I'll be working on Ninetales and Umbreon doggystyle in v5.0 (there may be unplanned features and pokemon added between v4.1 and v5.0 though, depending on how I swing). I'd like to introduce the x-ray feature for doggystyle, as well. I haven't added that feature yet because the scene really needed to be designed to support it from the start.

A note to patreon pledgers: The patreon hasn't done a pledge collection since December, if I recall correctly. The Lucario oral update will be a pledge post. Just a heads up!

Pokemon: Off White 4.1.12 alpha

Another stream, another pokemon, another version update. Litten turned out great! Thanks to everyone who turned up at the stream tonight, and pitched some pretty great ideas along the way!

Litten is the first showcase pokemon to support an upgrade to showcase mode's cum system, as it can now mess multiple body parts. Her inner thigh, in this case.

Pokemon: Off White 4.1.10 alpha

Thanks to those of you who popped into the stream tonight, that was fun! Got a lot of work done.


This small update includes basically three things:

 - Jolteon showcase added.
 - Flareon, Glaceon, Sylveon, Liepard, Absol and Delcatty have been given facial animations while in the selection/showcase mode. Some of them were given updated eye art style.
 - Hitboxes has been added to fix the selection glitchiness the previous update introduced.
 - Also maybe something special with Vaporeon?

An explanation, and an update: 4.1.8 alpha

- New showcase animations: Charizard and Ninetales
- New selection method in showcase mode
- Known bug: the selection screen cursor is a bit "spazzy" sometimes. This is because I completely overhauled it with how it's put together under the hood. A few bugs to work out, still. As a result of this work, Umbreon's showcase cum effects now function.

This is just a minor update I never really intended to post by itself. It was the work I did in January, and I had intended to release it along with some other, juicier content. I decided to go ahead and post what I already had ready just in the spirit of keeping some form of activity going on here.

Sorry I hadn't been posting more updates on the blog. A combination of a new computer and the technical complications that came with it, and a heightened gaming interest lately (any XCOM fans out there?!) has eaten up a lot of my time over the past month. That's not to say I haven't had any free time. I hate that easy-out excuse ;)

Unfortunately artwork for me is very much mood-driven, especially of the erotic nature. It's not something easily forced. Lately I been on a bit of a raptor-high and have been working on a side project. For those of you who just like feral stuff and not exclusively pokemon, you might be okay with this. As for the pokemon-purist audience here, sorry, but my roots started out with raptor lovin', and that'll occasionally demand my attention.

So, no, this project is not dead. It's just business as usual. Hell, the gap between v2 and v3 was like 9 months. But I don't intend for that to happen again :)

You know, I was a bit weary when I saw that she won the Patreon poll, because I always saw Charizard as having a very masculine design, and I haven't seen too many female feral depictions that I've liked. Back from vacation!

Someone had mentioned the suggestions page broke at 200+ comments. Really, I thought this was 2015....err 2016, and that webapps have developed past that old problem :|
